  15. I had exactly the opposite experience, the Zoom V34I ( the Internal version of your modem ), 
  16. and I had little if any problems.

  18. This modem uses the standard V34 Rockwell chipset, and is not RPI.
  19.  
  20. I only replaced it because it suddenly failed.

  22. I have now replaced it with a US Robotics Sportster V34 model, which give equally good results.
